THE TRAINER

About me

My name is Markus Maniecki. I was born in Rheydt in 1965. Even at school, sport and exercise provided a welcome balance with the long hours spent in the classroom. I learnt my first martial art, taekwondo, when I was ten years old. Later I mastered various styles of kung fu, judo and boxing.

After my Abitur (university-entrance diploma), I began my biology degree at the University of Cologne in 1991 and at the same time worked as a fitness trainer. Around this time I also developed a passion for coaching. I then decided to change my major and signed up for sports science at the University of Düsseldorf.

After completing my sport science degree in 1998, I was initially manager of a fitness club in Düsseldorf. In 2001, I decided to become self-employed. Since then I have worked as a group fitness instructor and personal trainer at different sport clubs, businesses and for private individuals.

Why I am a trainer

Currently more and more people are suffering from a lack of exercise. Especially business managers often don’t find the time to make sport a part of their everyday life. As a group fitness instructor and personal trainer I want to make exercise fun for my customers. Regular training doesn’t just improve your body’s performance, but also makes you feel better. My clients are learning that sport can do them good.

My motto

Think positive!
